Frequently Asked Questions
Q: May I check out library materials without my library card?
A: No, you should bring your library card to the library. Your library card will
be retained in the borrowing shelf along with the book's card and arranged according
to the date returned. Your library card will be given back to you upon returning
the book.
Q: I've lost my library card, how do I replace it?
A: To get a replacement library card, you must prove your identification either showing
your identity card or your passport.
Q: Is there a limit on the number of books I can check out?
A: At this moment, your are only allowed to borrow two (2) books for two weeks. Books
borrowed should be returned at the due date stamped at the date due slip at the back
of the book.
Q: May I renew my books over the phone?
A: No, library books must be brought into the library in order to be renewed.
Q: May I borrow videos and other audiovisual materials?.
A: We are sorry that all videos and other audiovisual materials cannot be taken out
of the library premises. You may only use these materials in the library upon request.
Library staff will assist you in operating the equipment and in case you you are
interested in making a copy of a particular material, provided that you bring along
the empty video cassettes or audio cassettes. There are no charges for duplication
services and the time taken to complete making a copy is three days.
Q: I have books from another library, can they be returned at any District Library?
A: All District Libraries are under Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Library. Books from
other libraries may be returned at any District Library and books from any District
Library can be returned at the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Library at Jalan Elizabeth
